Jogging Memories: 10 Years with EVRC

Becca Clarkson, Vancouver, B.C.

The East Vancouver Run Crew is not your average fitness group. Every Monday night, in a city known for its unfriendliness and flakiness, this crew manages to gather up to 100 people for a social run. This year marks EVRC’s 10-year anniversary—a massive feat considering its humble beginnings. Through this story, listeners will learn how one restaurateur took burnout and transformed it into a life-changing community hub.

Becca Clarkson is a musical-theatre-college-dropout-turned-journalist based in Vancouver, B.C. Outside her full-time gig with CTV News, Becca works as the editor-in-chief for SAD Magazine, a volunteer-run publication dedicated to uplifting emerging writers and designers. She enjoys long distance running, cycling, local comedy shows and walks with her tiny dog, Genie.
